After doing the post processing on the first images to come out of our new studio I thought that it was about time I put out another Photoshop tutorial, this time we’re dishing out what we think are The Top Two Photoshop Tools For Food Photographers!

Moving into a new house, setting up the studio and checking the natural light quality all seemed to call for a new post. We just unpacked all our prop boxes and I found this little gem of a bowl I picked up in Mattrah Souk, the last time we were prop shopping. You can see us here haggling with the best of them. Anyways, it’s a beautiful antique, and thinking about my shoot, I saw these little red potatoes that haven’t been in Muscat for a long time. I thought to myself that they would be a perfect match. Well after a few days of training myself, and the coffee maker, to wake early in the morning I found that the natural light comes through our new studio window at sleepy 6:30 a.m. which for me is a little rough. It shines through at a different angle than our last place and a heck of a lot earlier, but it’s nice and workable. Here are a few photos, from my first shoot at our new studio.
