I snapped up this image of Chef Jörgen Sodemann and his apprentices combing through the fresh produce at the local Seeb, vegetable market in Oman. It was nice to know that attention is still given to fresh local ingredients, in the rather pre-packaged world around us. Seeing Chef Jörgen carefully picking only the best specimens at the market and then two hours later photographing his creations on beautifully styled plates was an amazing experience as a food photographer.
Food Photography Of The Day
Today I wrote an article on 6 Steps To Becoming A Great Food Photographer. It doesn’t contain any quick tips or a fast track, rather it outlines the real steps to improving your craft. Six steps that should be on rinse and repeat forever.
This image of the vegetable market reminds me of a 7th step, create photographs in a series. There is nothing that will improve your storytelling abilities with photography more then working with the intent of making a series of multiple images. Single images are nice, but a picture package will bring you a whole new challenge and joy for your food photography.
