Canon 5Ds Launch and Rediscover Imaging Event

Canon invited me to speak at their launch of the Canon 5Ds here in Muscat, and the following week at the Canon Rediscover Imaging Event in Dubai!

Both were great events where I got to show off some of my photos and videos to thousands of people and speak about my experience with two of their cameras the Canon 5Ds and the Canon G3x.

My experience using the Canon G3x.

I also spoke about my experience with the Canon G3x. I was actually really surprised what this tiny camera could do. It’s by far more than just a point and shoot. The Canon G3x is great as a second body, for those who love travel photography, but don’t want to be weighed down by the bigger DSLRs.

Some of the features I love are…

• Great Image stabilization (the lens is literally floating in the case) really works well for hand-held video.
• Tilt Screen and WIFI capability with a remote app for your smartphone.
• Nice 20 MP image quality
• Easy Manual Controls (controls just like a DSLR only smaller)

With full 1920×1080 HD at 60fps, it’s also a great little video shooter and in the video below you can see some clips made with the Canon G3x.

Canon 5Ds Launch in Muscat!

Before going to Dubai, Canon had me launch the Canon 5Ds in Muscat at a huge event which took place at the Avenues in front of a few thousand people. Nervous to say the least. Here is the “first look” video I created using the Canon 5Ds before the launch.
