This is a simple recipe, just five ingredients. Beautiful acorn, butternut and delicate squash roasted to a perfect warm gooeyness. Just add lots of butter, brown sugar, fresh thyme and rosemary and you'll have a plate full of heaven. They make for an easy and simple photograph too. No need to fluff them up, their natural beauty straight from the oven is enough.
Food Photography Of The Day
Simple is a complex word. Ironically it's hard to keep anything simple. I think our default setting as humans is to over-complicate everything. Maybe not everything, but we sure do love to complicate photography. As food photographers, adding more to the image is almost a compulsion for us. We stand over our table, fingers pressed to our lips thinking, "it just needs one more thing." I have a few main goals as a photographer. One of those goals is to always K.I.S.S. or Keep It Simple, Stupid. To K.I.S.S. is difficult to achieve, but when you do a funny thing happens. Your photography tends to be louder, your story more refined and the simple beauty of your subject breaks through.
